The panel discussion will be about: How should the value of design be measured, quantified, explained, communicated and understood?
Most people would agree that design is important but do we agree on why? Can there be harm in justifying investments in design based mostly on return on investment? Is there a danger in promoting design as world savior, solution to poverty
and climate changes? Can artistic pretensions stand in the way of a professional representation?
This and other questions will be discussed with our international panel of experta.
The discussion will be held at after we´ve listened to: Iva Babaja, President ico-D presenting the ico-D board and the organisation, Karin Ahlin´s lecture ”Add design value by telling a story” (Karin Ahlin is chairman of Svenska Tecknare) and Richard Grefé´s lecture ”To communicate the value of design, an international perspective”.
